THIS ROCKS!

Over the last four months I have had five good friends get engaged. Yes, FIVE. Love is in the AIR!

With all of these engagements comes the question of what is an appropriate engagement gift. While I don't always think an engagement gift is necessary, you can always get something small and fun to show the couple you are excited for their next step. Below are a few of my favorite picks.

For the organized bride
- Gift Log
- Hellos & Goodbyes Notebook
- Ring Tray

For the new cook

For the party animals
For the new roomies
- Homepolish Gift Card
- Cheese Board
- Howdy Doormat

GROOVY

I am a big music gal. The only reason I look forward to Monday mornings is because I know I will have a new Case of the Monday's playlist in my inbox before 9am-- subscribe here if you haven't already. #headphonemondays

One of my goals for 2016 is to get out and see more live concerts. From Barclays to City Winery to Brooklyn Bowl to Manhattan Proper NYC is filled with opportunities to see live shows and explore new venues and I plan on doing that moving forward. Enter: SoFar Sounds.

SoFar Sounds is a company that creates small concerts in intimate spaces around the world. Both the venue of the concert and acts performing are a surprise until the day before you go. Locations are usually private homes or businesses and nights typically feature three acts of equal importance. I went to my first show last week at Public Factory (which is a men's retail store during the day) and saw Gymnast Band, Lil Freckles, and Jagged-Edge perform. We had a great time and I highly recommend checking it out with a group of friends to change up your typical happy hour// dinner routine.

OUT WITH THE OLD

Happy Monday and more importantly-- Happy SPRING!

Cheers to an extra hour of daylight, chambray outfits, and of course CADBURY EGGS.

I spent the weekend vegging out (such a treat!!!!!) and actually went through my closet between episodes of Scandal and trips to my favorite cafe Mulberry and Vine for some #springcleaning.

I combed through my closet asking myself if I had worn this item within the last year and if I would wear it on a first date or interview, if the answer was no the item was tossed. At the end of the day, I netted out with three full garbage bags of clothes and brought them to Second Time Around in Chelsea where they will pay me for the items that sell and donate the rest. Making money AND being charitable. WIN WIN.

Now that I have all that new money coming in, I feel less guilty about checking out the Joie Friends & Family sale....... ENDS TODAY!!!!

QUALITY TIME

Happy February and Happy Valentines Day week to all you lovers out there! I am headed to SF for the long weekend to visit my best friend and cannot WAIT! #galentines

In the spirit of the season, I wanted to share a quiz that helps you discover your "love language". I know what your thinking...... Molly SPARE me! BUT, we all show and receive love in different ways and doing this quiz will help you understand what you want//need from a partner and how you show your love in return.

After taking the quiz I realized that my love language is quality time....  had I known this a long time ago I may have thought twice before being in a long distance relationship. Take the quiz and find out what works best for YOU!

The 5 Languages of Love are pretty straightforward and outlined below.
  • 1. Words of Affirmation: Expressing affection through spoken affection, praise, or appreciation.
  • 2. Acts of Service: Actions, rather than words, are used to show and receive love.
  • 3. Receiving Gifts: Gifting is symbolic of love and affection.
  • 4. Quality Time: Expressing affection with undivided, undistracted attention.
  • 5. Physical Touch: It can be sex or holding hands. With this love language, the speaker feels affection through physical touch.

New Year, New Me

Happy New Year! It is hard to believe the holidays have come and gone and we are already in 2016.

I spent the last two weeks in Argentina with my family (more on that to come!) and we went around the table on NYE to say what accomplishment we were each most proud of in 2015 and what our ideal outcome is for 2016. When it was finally my turn, I found it really challenging to articulate (or even conceptualize) an ideal goal or outcome for 2016. The main reason being, a LOT can happen in a year!!!!

With that in mind, I have decided to make quarterly goals instead of year long resolutions for 2016. I have enlisted two friends to do the same and we plan to share our quarterly goals with each other and recap how we did at the end to hold each other accountable..... talk about #squadgoals.

Cheers to Q1!

You Dainty Little Thing

When it comes to jewelry I am very minimalistic. I believe in investing in a few staple pieces and wearing them everyday.

I have been wearing this Maya Brenner asymmetrical "M" necklace  and this Adina Reyter solid pave disc necklace in gold everyday for the last year. They are classic and can easily transition from day to night. I have also found that because I am very active I opt to keep them on when I work out, shower and sleep to save myself from what can be hours spent untangling the dainty chains.

When it comes to earrings I am a big fan of hoops. They bring an element of sass and fun to an everyday outfit, without looking like your trying too hard. The Paige Novick pave hoops are a personal favorite (and great gift!) as the diamonds dress them up for a night out.

In terms of bracelets you can never go wrong with a cool metal cuff or set of cute stacked bangles.

Remember less is more. Happy shopping!

SO FRESH SO CLEAN

Over the last few years my skincare routine has become basically nonexistent... unless Neutrogena Makeup Remover Cleansing Towelettes count??

LUCKILY, I stumbled upon Heyday when walking to Madison Square Park over the weekend and was immediately drawn in to book a 50 minute facial for the next day. Their value proposition is simple: Building a healthy skincare routine today is difficult. And it shouldn't be.

When walking into Heyday you will quickly notice the unique open space with facial stations divided by curtains all in a row. You can choose the 30 minute targeted treatment for $60 or 50 minute comprehensive treatment for $95 #doneanddone. After my facial was over I received a personalized email with my recommend Home Care Routine and a link to where to purchase the products online...... lets just say I will be back and recommend you all check it out soon!

RUGGIN' IT

I have always had a sweet spot for patterned rugs. My first purchase was for my apartment right out of college and obviously from Anthropologie. They are still killing it and I recently recommended this and this to a friend moving looking for a "boho chic" rustic vibe in her new studio apartment.

My other go-to's are Lulu & Georgia (I have had my eye on this tribal girl for a while) and the ever practical and affordable West Elm. I actually used to have this navy rug in my living room. For those of you looking to splurge Jonathan Adler will also never disappoint....
